It's a different version for teens
Invisalign Teen has a few features the adult version doesn’t:
- Compliance indicators: small blue dots that fade as the aligners are worn, so parents can see if they’re being worn enough
- Built-in room for permanent teeth that are still coming in
- Free replacement aligners (a real number of them, since teens lose them at lunch)
Why teens like it
- Eat what you want. No restrictions on pizza, popcorn, gum, apples, anything.
- Brush and floss normally. No working around wires.
- Play sports. No mouth-cutting incidents from a wire poking in at football practice.
- Take aligners out for prom photos, band concerts, or graduation pictures.
- Looks like nothing in photos.
Why parents like it
- No 7am emergency visits for a poking wire
- Predictable check-ins, often shorter than visits with traditional braces
- Compliance dots make the “are they wearing them” question almost answer itself
- Local treatment in Springfield. No long drives to Joplin or Kansas City.
Invisalign vs. traditional braces
Both work. Some bites are better treated with traditional braces. We’ll be honest with you at the consult about which one’s the right call. The majority of teen cases we see at Smile Zone do great in Invisalign, and removing the daily hassle of braces is a real quality-of-life upgrade for a teenager
What it costs
In the same range as traditional braces. We work with most insurance plans and we offer payment plans that fit a normal family budget. We’ll walk through the numbers at the free consult so there’s no guessing.
What the free consult looks like
About 30 minutes. We take photos and a quick digital scan of the teeth. You see what your teen’s smile would look like at the end of treatment. We answer your questions. No pressure to start that day.
