The Smile Zone Philosophy

At Smile Zone, we believe that communicating with children on their level is one of the most important ways to reduce their fears. Everyone in our office is an excellent communicator with children—it's what we do all day long. We believe children can't be rushed and should be given all the time they need and deserve. That's why we apply a technique known as "Tell – Show – Do." We tell the child what we're going to do in terms they can easily understand, we demonstrate it to them, then we do it. The technique is as effective as it is simple.

Heather T. Hudkins, DDS, PC

General Dentist

The Team Dr. Hudkins graduated with a BA in Biology from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 1997. She then spent four years in graduate studies, working towards her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UMKC School of Dentistry.

Following graduation, Dr. Hudkins practiced in a children's clinic for four years in the Branson area. It was there that she realized her love for working with children, which compelled her to join in private practice with Dr. Brell in 2005. Just a year later, she created Smile Zone to provide a fun and friendly atmosphere that meets the dental needs of children.
